![]() Hello and welcome to our fire tutorial. In this tutorial we'll show you how to place a fire on your map. This is very simple and easy to explain and learn. Choose the entity env_fire in the right navigation.
![]() Place it somewhere in your map, where you want to have a little fire. With rightclick and properties the properties of the entity will open.
![]() Now click on Flags in the properties and activate the following settings. Infinite Duration: ON - Start On: ON - Start Full: ON - Don?t Drop: ON - No Glow: ON
![]() Click on apply and your fire is ready. ![]() There is an other thing you can do to make the fire more realistic. For this you need a second entity. The light entity. If you want to use the fire light effect it is better to have the fire in a dark room. Choose the entity tool and type light in the right navigation under objects.
![]() Now you have to place the light entity over the env_fire. Now go to the properties of the light entity. Click on brightness and type in the following numbers for the color and brightness of the light.
![]() Do not close the properties window. Because we need to change something on the Appearance. Change the appearance from normal Normal to Flicker A.
![]() Now your fire is a little bit more realistic. ![]() If you want, you can add a fire sound to your fire. That is simple and easy to do. Choose the Entity Tool and look for ambient_generic in the right navigation.
![]() Like the light effect you have to place the entity over the fire entity. Open the entity properties with rightclick properties. Click on Sound Name and type in the following commandline: ambient/fire/fire_med_loop1.wav .
![]() Now go to the flags and activate the following flags. Start Silent: OFF and Is NOT Looped: OFF
![]() Now you'll see and hear that your fire got a fire sound.
![]() That was the fire tutorial. We hope we could help you with this tutorial. If you got any questions or announcements to this tutorial, send us an e-mail or open a topic in our forum. |
