Hello and welcome to our "How to use GCF Scape?" Tutorial. In this tutorial we'll explain to you how to copy WAD or other files to your Harddrive with GCF Scape.
First of alle you have to download and install GCF Scape. You can find the Tool on our Website as well. If you're in the downloadsection you have to click on download now next to GCFScape. A new Tab will open up and give you some informations about the program. Underneath you have to click on „click here“ to download the program.
If your download is finished you have to unzip the file somewhere on your harddrive. Now click on the GCFScape.exe and a new window without any content will open up.

On the top you've got a navigation where you can find File, Edit, View, Tools, Options and help.

Click on File -> Open. Choose your "steamapps" folder. (Steam\steamapps) Now you've to choose the File that you want to open. Example: For Counter-Strike 1.6 - counter-strike.gcf.

You'll now see the cstrike and reslists folders. Choose the cstrike folder. There are all folders you normaly got on your harddrive (without steam). Choose the WAD File you want to download. Then rightclick -> extract. A new window will pop up where you have to choose a folder where you want to save the WAD file.

Choose your folder and click ok. The File will be downloaded.

Now you can use the WAD in your Hammer Editor 3.5. How to add WADs for your Editor should be clear after the "How to start the Hammer Editor" Tutorial in our tutorial section. Hopefuly this tutorial helped you. We wish you all good luck and much fun while mapping.
